Her name Ebele is simply an Igbo name, which means mercy in the English language. This beautiful veteran actress is best known as the Mama of Nollywood due to the many motherly roles she plays in Nollywood films.

Upon completion, Ebele Okaro worked with the Australian High Commission, Lagos, Nigeria, to earn a living. She was in charge of students’ visas and educational scholarships awarded to Nigerian and Ghanaian students. In addition, she later worked at a bank before joining Nollywood fully in 1996.
